About my guest

Dr. John D Rich, Jr. is an educational psychologist, and associate professor of Psychology at Delaware State University, with expertise in effective parenting and teaching.

He was moved to start his blog because he wanted a place to discuss what he knows about his own life as an educator and a parent of two great boys, as well as all of the high-quality research out there about effective parenting and education, using language and stories that would be accessible to a wide audience.

Dr. Rich believes that most parents desire to raise well-behaved, successful children, and that most educators desire to impact the students in their care. There is so much information out there about how to accomplish these goals, and most of it is not substantiated by scientific sources.

Dr. Rich’s site is at www.drjohnrich.com. And don’t forget to tune in every Friday at 6pm for his new internet radio broadcast, called “Dr. John’s Neighborhood,” where Dr. Rich talks about how psychology can help us live better, more intentional lives. The broadcast can be found on ipmnation, and can be streamed on demand after the airing at my radio site’s webpage. (www.ipmnation.com/djn)
